From the beginning, when the plasma screen television hit the market, everyone was in awe. Who wouldn’t want one of the new, thin, and flat versions of the TV instead of the thick, bulky, and outdated ones? You have the neon-xenon which is then suspended in the plasma and strikes blue, green, and red colored phosphors whenever it becomes charged with electricity. It is because of the phosphorus, which erupts, that an image is produced.

You may know people who have purchased a plasma screen television due simply to the size alone. Features can easily have negative consequences for those that are blinded by the positives. You can invest in a plasma screen television that is as “small” as 32-40 inches, or one as large as 61-63 inches, and you might be tempted to fall for the fallacy that “bigger is better”. Always take into consideration the size of the room where you will be putting it. The urge to go with “biggest is best” might be soothed if you keep in mind that the sets are going to loom large no matter which size you get, due to their impressive build and design.

Most of us have heard from our mothers that sitting too close to the TV can be dangerous. It’s important for people with 32-37 inch sets to keep their distance a comfortable 6-10 feet. If you are looking for a set that is 42-46 inches, then you should go with 10-14 feet. People buying a plasma that is 50 inches, or greater, need to stay back at least 15 feet. A full distance of 25 feet (or more) should be observed with a TV that is 60 inches or greater.
